Mel is a dedicated Public Health professional with a Bachelor of Health Science in Nutrition and Health Promotion and 15 years of experience in the not-for-profit sector. Previously working at Cancer Council Victoria, Diabetes Western Australia and BreastScreen Victoria, Mel has been at the forefront of large scale population based initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes and addressing inequity.

Mel’s expertise in the prevention and management of chronic diseases has been centred around client-focused, innovative approaches to health program management, including the planning, implementation, and evaluation of initiatives aimed at improving community health outcomes. Mel is a skilled facilitator and public speaker with experience delivering workshops and impactful presentations to a range of audiences. Mel brings a wealth of experience in relationship management with diverse stakeholders—including government departments, corporate partners, workplaces, community and health professionals, driving collaboration and advancing public health initiatives.

Mel’s professional approach is anchored in a commitment to creating sustainable solutions, leveraging her skills in relationship building, strategic insight, and a deep understanding of consumer and community engagement principles to foster meaningful connections between organisations and the communities they serve.
